In less than twenty-four hours we will be officially on our way to England. It is crazy! I am still in shock that I have this wonderful opportunity to immerse myself into another country’s culture for two weeks. Both anxious and excited I am almost completely done with my packing. While I am sure I won’t be completely done packing until I leave for the airport tomorrow morning (removing items so it will actually shut) it certainly makes the trip feel real. After a nice England movie marathon with my mom this weekend (Queen Elizabeth I, Young Victoria and The Queen) I am even more excited for what is to come. My expectations for this trip are high. I expect to gain so much knowledge about the history of England and its many historical treasures along with information about the people and how they live today. To be honest there is only one thing I have no interest in and that is the plane ride, which hopefully I will sleep through. There is one place in particular that I absolutely must see. For the first time, after many trips to Disney World and seeing Cinderella’s castle, I am finally going to see the real thing. Though there is so much magnificent architecture and rich History to explore on this trip I anticipate being able to see Buckingham Palace will be the highlight for me. This is first on my list of personal plans. Not only is it gorgeous, but it has an opulent history and it represents the traditions of this enchanting country. Along with the palace, I am excited for a look at the Cliffs of Dover. Though it seems so simple, I find them to be mesmerizing. Finally, I am very eager to visit the medical facilities. I think this will be an eye opening experience. In the past days, we have learned so much about how their culture differs from ours especially their health care. I am excited to see the roles of the health care workers and hear their opinions on their jobs, the patients, medical schooling, their overall health care system. I also am anxious to see the set up and organization of the facilities and compare them to the US.
From this trip I hope to gain an appreciation for the English culture. I hope to enjoy all the country has to offer from their fish and chips to their extraordinary art/theaters. From this visit I hope to also gain a since of adventure and do my best to enjoy every opportunity. Along with this since of adventure I hope I obtain the courage to drink from the springs of Bath. Though I am frightful I may obtain some type of bacteria, the springs are said to have healing powers and who couldn’t use a sick free winter. Overall, I believe this is going to be a once in a lifetime experience and cannot imagine what is all in store for us.

So I am sitting here watching the BCS football game but all I can think about it how I will be leaving for England in less than 12 hours! So football, not so much on my mind right now haha. I remember when I first signed up for this trip and thought it was forever away but now I am all packed, my vitamins are taken and all that is left is to go to sleep and wake up and head towards the airport :) See everyone tomorrow!

Counting down the hours
I've been to England and France, along with a few other countries over sea, but I have always traveled with family. I am excited to travel with friends this time, see new places that I did not have time to see last time and revisit place I enjoyed. I'm trying to remember everything I forgot last time or discovered that I needed last time. I know I'm going to miss our US bathrooms and ice in my water, but there is not much I can do to change that. Hopefully the airport wont be crazy and that I get some sleep on the ride over.
